So what I'm trying to do is to upload 2 Desktop pictures both JPEG Now I've uploaded one of them successfully (It's in 2880x1527). When I try to upload the 1980x1050 version it says "Duplicate" and I can't upload it. Is this how it's supposed to be, or what am I doing wrong?
I am fairly new to Wallbase, any help would be appreciated. Exailez

there is only one way to do it, so there isn't any issue there, what could be the issue is that you are trying to upload a smaller version of the wallpaper you already uploaded which the system doesn't like, or maybe the difference in size just isn't great enough between the two.
i think a lower res duplicate isnt allowed. if you had uploaded the lower res first, you would have been allowed to upload higher res.
why not just let it be? they're both the same ratio, they can be resized according to individual needs. or if you really want to upload both, delete the higher res, upload the lower, then reupload the higher.

i think a lower res duplicate isnt allowed. if you had uploaded the lower res first, you would have been allowed to upload higher res. This is right - if you upload a lower res version of an image, it is rejected for upload. A general rule to follow is to upload the largest res version available, as long as it's not up-scaled or poor quality. i had try upload two wallpaper it is new wallpaper and created by me but This has happened to me too. It's because the duplicate checker is very sensitive, so even original content can be mistaken as a dupe. I try to upload a 6000x4151 wallpaper, and Wallbase tell: duplicated !!, there is a 1200x830 wallpaper. See above. I think this thread can be closed now.

I can tell you four 2560x1600 wallpapers of Melanie Iglesias exactly the same, there are also other resolution of the same wallpaper and mirror.

I can tell you four 2560x1600 wallpapers of Melanie Iglesias exactly the same, there are also other resolution of the same wallpaper and mirror. The upload system's a fickle creature. It used to work differently, but it's had problems for a while that Yotoon's not fully figured out yet. Mirrors, on the other hand - they get through, and some people abuse that to get more achievements. Really all we can do is work around it until the v4 and future upgrades fix these problems.

what to do if wallbase says that my uploaded wallpaper is a duplicate, but it's false-positive? I just tried to upload wallpaper, system said that it already exists on wallbase, but thumbnail on upload page (that with "duplicate" watermark) links to something different.

If what you're uploading is genuine original content, I suppose there wouldn't be any harm in mirroring the image, if possible. Otherwise, we'll have to wait and see how v4 changes the system. That shouldn't be against the rules of the actual image isn't already on the site. Just remember that knowingly mirroring an image to bypass the system for a wall that's already on the database is a no-no. |
