I've taken a class in my school to learn Photoshop in my school but it only really taught the basics of how to do stuff such as
1920x1200 or 2560x1440 and the only YouTube tutorials I can find are kinda useless. So please tell me if you've seen any useful YouTube's or web sites that could teach me how to do stuff like this, it would be appreciated.

I think it's mostly just trying stuff out. You might stumble upon something amazing if you just fuck around.

I learned how to use photoshop in a photo shop!
Taking ID photo's and then re-touching the image to be blemish free. But other then that not much else.

I think you would find better tutorials by searching specific ones on Google than looking them up on YouTube! I believe more people do that kind of stuff on blogs and PS sites, so try Googleing whichever effect you are looking for...

"My name is Donny. You suck at photoshop but don't worry there is place for people like you - last place." Seem legit.

The best strategy (which applies to everything, even playing the guitar) is just fucking around all the time with new things, and giving yourself mini-challenges once in a while.
You can find great tutorials at this sites :

At the risk of going a bit oftopic, but i would really apreciate if anyone has some gimp tips & tutorial sites, i've seen everything there is about gimp on youtube but Photoshop is just way more popular so it's hard to find good stuff. Thanks in Advance.

Guys stop it, i tried several times to....not pay for it :P.... but it's all just incomplete versions that need more patches and crap. And my composaurus is a piece of shit so it would have a hard time runing photoshop.
Gimp is just an easier solution....

I think these are the steps for a complete fresher whether it be PS or GIMP:
1: BEGINNER tutorials on Google search. 2: More tutorials until you get a hang of either of the software. Then comes the difficult part: 3: Create your own designs or ideas. This is where people start thinking that the problem is with their software or their knowledge of the features and they need to KNOW more. As a Javascript wizard said "knowing 50% of the language is enough to do 100% of the work". We just reach a point where we have to have faith and persistance in our own skills and efforts and stick to either of the two software. True that GIMP has far less and lesser quality of tutorials compared to PS and that's for a good reason. But if anyone's looking to change that then they can learn enough through many of the existing GIMP tutorials and add to their 'visual library' by getting inspired by PS tuts and artwork to try them out in GIMP.
