Yes.

I remember Yotoon saying so in the comment section a long while back ago.
Maybe he can confirm or infirm so we put it in the guidelines for good.
I think it works sometimes and don't other times. Maybe there should be both depending of the subjects?
The idea of Yotoon at the time was that users where looking for "cats" so the tags should be plurals. But it's weird to have a plural if there's only one cat in the wallpaper. DERP!
Anyhow users who search for "cat" will find the very same walls.

On a day to day basis it's difficult to follow as an admin because we have to aliase each singular to a plural. That where I come up with "fishes" OMGOMGOMG

Have fun!

What about wolf and wolves, or elf and elves? Would the search return wolf when searched for wolves. I ask because the letters are different (*f changes to *ves when pluralized).

I have a few questions about tagging. I'm probably over-thinking things, but I'd like some clarification.

What is the stance on tagging a wall with vs
girls —» women
?

If I know the name of the woman in a wall, for example, Megan Fox, do I tag the wall with "Megan Fox" and "women" or just "Megan Fox"?

Also, how broad should I be with my tagging? If it's a photo should I tag it or photos (should those be merged? also shouldnt photos be undercase?) or
photography —» TagNotAllowedTooSubjective
? Should I tag a painting as ?

Thanks in advance, I'm not that familiar with how the search engine filters this kinda stuff, so I wasn't sure about some tags.

AFAIK, be general, but not too general. For example, you can tag a wallpaper of Jessica Alba as her name as well as 'actress' and 'women', and add info on other attributes present in the image like say, 'smile', 'blonde', 'white dress', 'boots', 'bikini', 'beach', etc. But don't add too general tags like 'photo', 'wallpaper', 'screenshot', etc. This is generally implied.

If it a painting then add the name of the artist, if known, and the type of painting (abstract, sketch, portrait, etc.), and details in it like say, 'battle', 'nude', 'ships', etc.

Rule of thumb, think about how you would search for it and add tags accordingly. No one will come to a website dedicated to wallpapers and search for 'wallpapers'.

Did you take a look at the top tags on wallbase ? 1st is girls and 10th is women. What would you like to tag women like ? body parts ? hair color ?

I guess. Because I don't see why is it wrong to do otherwise

IMHO, they are ok. Celebrities (and pornstars) change their looks all the time, and this helps narrow it down in case you don't remember specifics. Same with eye color.

I have a query: Recently 'red hair' was aliased to 'redheads' which I am not sure about, because there are many wallpapers where the girl is wearing bright red hair which is not the natural 'redhead' color, and can only be hair color or a wig. Example:

Redhead =
3000x2000

Red Hair =
1920x1080

Is there a point (and opinion) to the "non-nude" tag? Can I add a non-hovercraft tag to all wallpapers Awesome!

It allows people to see models with their clothes on.
I never use the tag, but see why some would.
I suppose it can also apply to pics of pornstars at movie premieres etc.

e.g
2114x3000

Sasha Grey spends 99% of her time here with no clothes on and a human suppository.
But in this one she is "non-nude". So someone may search for "Sasha Grey Non-Nude".

That'll teach me for asking questions... I just spent half an hour going through the "Sasha Grey Non-Nude" collection and I have to get up early tomorrow. Thanks for the insight.

I don't see the need for "non-nude" tag because you can always use purity filters:
SFW - clean
SKETCHY - partial nude

Not sure if this was mentioned:

What's the rule / guideline on tagging a wallpaper by the name of the creator
Such as real name and / or deviantart screename?

For example
2560x1600

I found this one
3872x2346

and it had tags like and . Of course there's grass on the photo, but the main subject is the rhino and when I'm looking for grass or plants, I wouldn't expect a rhino. So I deleted these tags.

Now I'm just asking for feedback, whether I'm not making a mistake or can go on like this.
